The Innocent and the Brave ch4

next day-----------------------------

Shadow was still awake but was now sitting at a desk in the corner of the room. Sonic was still sleeping. Shadow looked over to him and smiled. Sonic's eyes started opening. Shadow didn't notice and just went back to what he was doing. Sonic sat up and yawned. Then he looked over at Shadow. Shadow still didn't notice he was stuck on what he was doing and scratched his head thinking. Sonic just sat there and started woundering what Shadow was doing. Shadow slamed his hand on the table and stood up frusterated,
"Damn it!" Shadow yelled. Sonic got a little startled. Shadow took the paper he was reading off the desk and tore it in half throwing it into the trash that sat beside the desk
"Stupid basterds!" Shadow yelled again. 'I wounder why he's so mad.' Sonic thought. Shadow growled as he pushed him hands down on the desk and glanced back at Sonic then doing a double take when he saw he had woken up,
"Sonic.." he said turning around,
"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"
"No." Sonic said. Shadow sat next to him,
"Sorry about the yelling."
"It's ok. But what's wrong?" Sonic asked.
"Just a letter I got in the mail...." he said
"It's nothing that you have to worry about" Shadow said smiling
"Ok."
"How are ya?" he asked
"Good. You?"
"Fine" Shadow said. Sonic smiled.
"Hey I have a question.. I never asked it before."
"What kind of slave are you? I mean what did you do before I got you?" Shadow asked. Sonic looked down.
"Well, more or less..." Sonic started as he folded his ears down.
"A... body slave." Sonic said, almost in a wisper. Shadow's eyes widened,
"As..... as in.. like......." it killed him to say it cause he didnt want himself to be right.
"Rape?" Shadow said. Sonic had a sad look on his face now.
"Y-Yeah." Sonic said. Shadow looked down
"I'm sorry...."
"It's ok." Sonic said, his ears still folded down. 'I made him take a shower with me too...... man that was bad...' Shadow thought.
"So who was your last master?"
"Mephiles was his name." Sonic said. Shadow was stunned,
"Mephiles!?" he knew him, he hated him too. Sonic got startled again. Shadow covered his mouth realizing he had yelled again,
"Sorry.." he said muffled
"It's ok... You know Mephiles?"
"Ugh I hate him, he's..." Shadow trailed off his sentance
"That's why I ran away from him. I hated him too." Sonic said. 'no wonder...' Shadow thought "Yeah... who took you back to the slave house?"
"I don't know. I passed out somewhere and when I woke up I was back at the slave house." Sonic said.
"Oh man...." Shadow's ears folded back,
"Sorry to hear that" Shadow said as he heard something hit the roof, then he heard it multiple times and rapidly. looking out the window he saw water
"Man it's pouring outside." he said
"Yeah." Sonic said as he looked out the window too. The power went out soon after and it was pitch black in the house. Sonic hugged Shadow when the power went put. Sonic was scared and started shaking a bit. Shadow pet his head and hushed him,
"It's ok I just need to find a candle or a flashlight or something"
"C-Can I go with you?" Sonic asked.
"Of course you can." Shadow said as he stood up picking Sonic up
"Thank you."
"Sure" Shadow said as he kissed Sonic's forehead and started walking, he could kinda see cause his eyes had adgusted to the dark already
Sonic smiled when he felt Shadow kiss his forehead.
Shadow set Sonic down and opened a drawr pulling out a lighter and a candle
"Here we go." Shadow said as he lit it
"Good." Sonic said, still smiling.
"It's getting kinda late....." he started as he yawned, "I'm tired." he said
Sonic gave a small yawn too. "Me too."
"Let's go back to bed.."
"Ok." Sonic said. Shadow picked Sonic up again keeping one hand free for the candle, he took him back to his room and laid down with him. Shadow looked up to put the candle in a stand next to his bed. Sonic snuggled into Shadow and smiled. Shadow rested his head on his pillow and without warning fell asleep leaving Sonic awake by himself. A voice sounded in the room only minutes later,
"Sonic..." it hissed. Sonic's eyes widen in fear.
"Sonic." it said again then a figure appeared in the shadows, unable to be seen because it was out of the light of the candle. Sonic looked back and tried to see whoever was saying his name. He started shaking in fear. A dark crystal hedgehg stepped into the light with an evil grin across his face
"You ran away from me." he said. Sonic eyes widen more in fear.
"Mephiles." Sonic wispered. For the first time in days, Sonic was scared. Mephiles close the space between himself and sonic to just 2 feet,
"How dare you run away." he said in an evil tone. Sonic was shaking badly with fear as tears started forming in his eyes. Mephiles reached out and grabbed Sonic by the collar,
"I'm speaking to you!" Mephiles yelled 'Oh god! Shadow please wake up!' Sonic thought. He was still shaking. Sonic closed his eyes tight.
"I...I..." Sonic started, to scared to talk.
"Listen to me! Spit it out dog!!" Mephiles yelled giving Sonic one hard shake forwards and back. Sonic couldn't awser. Mephiles growled and ripped Sonic out of the bed slamming him hard on his stomach and stepped on his back. Sonic let out a small yelp of pain as he hit the floor.
"Well ya know what? I'm taking you back as my proporty." Mephiles stepped down harder on Sonic's back. Sonic's widen in fear.
"No." Sonic wispered quietly, hoping Mephiles wouldn't hear. Mephiles growled again stepping harder,
"Hope all you want but I'm not deaf." Mephiles said. Sonic wimpered in pain. He hated Mephiles! Mephiles used his dark powers to teleport them back to his house and they were on his bed
"I should kill you for running away like that!" Mephiles yelled. Sonic started shaking badly with fear as tears ran down his face.
Mephiles hit the back of Sonic's head, "Stop crying!" Mephiles yelled. Sonic wiped away his tears and held the rest back. Mephiles got off Sonic and stepped down off the bed. Sonic was still shaking. He didn't want to be with Mephiles! He wanted to stay safe, with Shadow.
"Well honestly I don't care what you want." Mephiles said looking back at him. Sonic was still shaking. Mephiles growled again,
"You wanna die?"
"No."
"Then stop that shaking! It's annoying." Mephiles said. Sonic stopped shaking.
Mephiles smirked,
"Good boy," Mephiles got back on the bed and took Sonic's hand. Sonic looked at Mephiles, fear in his eyes.
"So" Mephiles started as he pulled Sonic closer to him roughly "What did you and Shadow do while you were on your little 'vaction'?" he asked in a mean tone. Sonic didn't say anything. "Well?" Mephiles asked getting impatiant. Sonic couldn't anwser now that he was looking into Mephiles' cold, evil eyes. He was too scared. Mephiles slapped him across the face and let his hand go,
"Little slut." Mephiles said in a harsh tone. Sonic started shaking a little again. Mephiles grabbed him by the collar again,
"So slave why'd you run?" Mephiles asked. Sonic was too scared to anwser, but he knew he had to.
"Be-Because..." Sonic started. Mephiles waited for his answer
"I want the truth"
"Because I just couldn't take it anymore!" Sonic yelled. He knew he was gonna get hurt again, badly. Mephiles smirked,
"Couldn't take what?" Mephiles asked as he put his finger on Sonic's chest and let it slide down a little clawing him on its way.
"All the pain and the abuse!" Sonic yelled again. Mephiles grabbed Sonic's throat,
"Don't you dare yell at me!" he yelled in Sonic's face
"I'm sorry." Sonic wispered. It was getting harder to hold back his tears. Mephiles let him go, "Watch what you say or you'll spend the night in the basement again"
"I will." Sonic said. Mephiles dug his claw a little more into Sonic's chest,
"Don't yell"
"I won't." Sonic said, pain in his voice.
"Good boy." Mephiles took it out of him. Sonic was still shaking a little, but stopped himself.
"Very good."
Sonic still kept trying his best to keep his tears from falling. Mephiles looked at him knowing he wanted to cry,
"Go ahead, it won't help" Mephiles mocked. Sonic had to try and be strong. He still kept his tears from falling. Mephiles had a dirty trick up his sleeve, then there was a knock on the door,
"Stay" he stood up and got the door. Sonic nodded. Shadow was on the other side of the door. Mephiles stood aside letting him come in,
"Come right in Shadow" he said with an evil smirk. Sonic heard Mephiles say Shadow's name. Shadow walked forwards and into the room that Sonic was in giving him an evil smirk. Sonic saw Shadow and started shaking a bit in fear. Shadow walked up to him,
"Hi there" Shadow said. Sonic didn't say anything. For some reason, he felt like something was wrong. Shadow let his smile turn to a frown
"You don't like me anymore?" Shadow asked. Mephiles came in behind,
"Speak to your guest Sonic, now."
"It... It's not that Shadow." Sonic finally said.
"Well then what is it!?" Shadow yelled a little. Sonic knew then and there, it wasn't Shadow. Shadow would never yell at him. Shadow took Sonic by the collar, "I'm talking to you!"
"Your not Shadow." Sonic said.
"What did you say?"
"The real Shadow would never yell at me. He promised he won't. Your not the real Shadow." Sonic said. Shadow scoffed,
"Did you really think I cared about you at all? Your even more stupider then I thought. and I thought you were pretty stupid to begin with." Shadow let go of him. Sonic knew it wasn't Shadow now. He knew Shadow cared. Shadow stood up off the bed and disappeared in a dark fog, Mephiles came up to Sonic,
"Wasn't that fun?" he said with a evil, yet satisfied smile. Sonic knew the Shadow that was just there was a fake. Mephiles smiled and walked out of the room locking the door from the outside on his way out. Sonic closed his eyes. He wanted the real Shadow, more then anything right now.

6 hours later------------------------

Sonic was almost asleep. Loud crashing was heard from the living room where Mephiles was. Sonic was wide awake now from the crashing. 'What's going on!?' Sonic thought. There was a scream then a loud bang on the door of the room Sonic was in. Sonic was starting to get scared. The bang came three more times each time getting louder. Sonic started shaking in fear. He didn't know what to do. The door locked from the outside. The fourth time it came the door flew open visiouly and a figure was standing in the door way. Sonic looked up at the figure. Shadow was standing there with his chest covered in blood, he ran up to Sonic as fast as he could and started exaniming him for injuries,
"Are you ok? Did he hurt you!?" Shadow asked. Sonic hugged Shadow. He was still shaking and tears were going down his face. Shadow hugged Sonic close to him,
"Are you hurt? Tell me please I'm worried."
"No I'm not." Sonic said, crying at this point. Shadow rubed his back
"I'm here now, it's ok.."
"Shadow I was so scared." Sonic said as he still shook. Shadow almost cried himself,
"I know, I saw......"
"What about Mephiles?" Sonic asked, scared that Mephiles would come in. Shadow started shaking too,
"He.. he can't hurt you... ever again.."
"You mean he's..." Sonic started. Tears started streaming down Shadow's face,
"I-I meant to but at the same time.... I didn't..."
"Why not?" Sonic asked.
"I've never.. killed anyone before.. I never thought I could do it so coldly..." tears were still going down Shadow's face. Sonic started rubbing Shadow's back now. Shadow let go of Sonic and wiped his face
"And your ok right?" blood stained Shadow's chest
"I think so. What about you?" Sonic asked.
"I'm fine.." Shadow said looking at Sonic. Sonic gave a small smile.
"Good." Sonic said. Shadow took Sonic in for one last hug before standing up again,
"Let's get out of here..."
"Ok." Sonic said as he stood up. Shadow walked out of the room walking past the living room. Mephiles' dead body was in the middle of the floor, his eyes were open and lifless, and there was a deep wound over his heart. Sonic followed Shadow. Shadow kept his gaze forwards not wanting to look at what he'd done again. Sonic saw Mephiles and looked away quckly. He rushed up a bit to catch with Shadow. Shadow was torn about what he had done, he worried about Sonic's saftey from himself even,
"Sorry.."
"It's ok. There's nothing to be sorry about." Sonic said.
"I killed someone.. your not mad?"
"No I'm not." Sonic said. Shadow looked down,
"You need a ride home?"
"Yeah."
Shadow picked Sonic up brydal style and ran home as fast as he could. Sonic snuggled into Shadow. He was glad he was away from Mephiles now. Shadow got home and went to his room setting Sonic on the bed,
"I'm sorry I didn't come ealier..."
"It's ok." Sonic said. Shadow sighed and sat next to him. Sonic couldn't help himself but to hug Shadow again. Shadow hugged him back holding onto him almost crying again but stopping himself. Sonic felt so much safer now that he was with Shadow again. He never wanted to leave Shadow.
"I'm sorry..."
"It's ok."
"I should have fought harder.. when you were taken I was awake, I felt paralized though..." Shadow said. Sonic hugged Shadow a little tighter. He was about to cry.
"I'm so sorry.." Shadow said in almost a sobbing tone
"It's ok." Sonic said. Shadow finally let Sonic go and again wiped away his own tears, he looked at his chest and stood up,
"Where are you going?" Sonic asked.
"I have to take a shower... his blood is all over me"
"Ok."
"Are you gonna be ok by yourself?" Shadow asked. Sonic nodded his head.
"Your sure? I don't have to take one now."
"I'm sure." Sonic said.
Shadow nodded and walked into the bathroom. Sonic was really tired, he almost didn't get any sleep at all. Shadow got in the shower and started rinsing off the blood, and stepped out about 10 minutes later going back into the bedroom
"Sonic?" he said going in. Sonic was asleep on the bed. Shadow sat next to him,
"Poor Sonic, he must be exausted...." Shadow said. Sonic still slept. Most likly nothing could wake him up. Shadow started stroking Sonic's quills,
"I should have been stronger...." Shadow said. Sonic gave a small smile as he felt Shadow stroking his quills.
"But your ok now.." Shadow smiled and leaned down kissing Sonic on the cheek, "And that's all that matters, sweet dreams Sonikku" Shadow laid next to him pulling the covers over them.
